small-church.jpg            Everyone knows that June is wedding month.  If you don’t get married in June, you probably will choose May, July, August, or September.  But, how about a winter wedding?  Here are my reasons you should consider this unorthodox option.

1.  Cost.  It seems as if at the mention of the word wedding, the price of any service doubles.  The industry can kill you with overpriced items.  Vendors are less busy in the winter and will charge significantly less.

2.  Accessories.  You can wear pretty white gloves or a faux fur wrap.

3.  Flowers.  You may not believe it, but there are seasonal, inexpensive flowers available in winter.  Poinsettias, chrysanthemums, lilies, and roses, not to mention Christmas greenery!

4.  Theme.  Anything wintery can add a subtle, chic theme to your party.  Snowflakes, pine trees, or ice can all add little, pretty decorative touches.

5.  Color.  Winter colors are bold and fun.  Go for deep reds, greens, purples, or gold.

6.  Footwear.  You could actually wear boots to your wedding.  A fun opportunity to shop for white, high-heeled boots.  It’s probably something you will never do again.

7.  Atmosphere.  Use the cold temperatures as an excuse for creating a cozy, warm ceremony and reception.  Find a location with fireplaces or use lots of candles.

8.  White.  With any luck, your wedding’s surroundings will be purely, pristinely white.
