If you’re considering using candles at your next wedding and don’t know what type of candles to get, I’d recommend soy candles. Nohm Candles offers a great selection of soy candles to choose from. Here’s a little bit from the site:

We are a mother and daughter operation that began making soy candles 3 years ago after learning of the dangers of burning paraffin candles. We wanted our candles to be healthy for both you and the environment! After trying many different combinations of waxes, essential oils and pure fragrances, we have found the right combination of ingredients that yield amazing candles!!

Here’s a little bit about what soy candles are all about:

Soy Candles should be made from 100% all natural waxes, which can include palm and coconut wax as well as soy. A company can claim to be a soy candle when in fact they have only a small amount of soy and contain mostly paraffin and synthetic additives. This does not have to be disclosed to you. So, unless it says 100% soy or 100% vegetable wax it probably isn’t!

If you’re looking for that extra natural touch at your wedding, think soy!

How about having fountain wedding cakes on your wedding! Sounds good! So why not to go ahead with the idea and choose any one wedding cake recipe and you can have your wedding cakes in a manner which no one has gone about. All you have to do is close your eyes and imagine a cake with a fountain. Then open your eyes and put it into reality. Add the flavor of your or your partner’s choice and choose some decorations on the cake out of the many available in the market. Isn’t that simple!

How To Configure A Fountain Wedding Cake

To understand what exactly fountain wedding cakes are, take a good look at any portable fountain. It should be as big as the space available where you plan to present your wedding cake idea to the guests. Also before deciding on a fountain, you must know how many guests are going to enjoy the wedding cakes. Once you have done this, the remaining job of a baker is to beautify the décor of the fountain you have chosen with his wedding cake recipe. The creativity starts here. You can choose multi-flavor cake with each tier having a different flavor. Also the water flowing can be replaced with wine, champagne or even liquid chocolate. Technological advancement can help you add sound effects to your fountain wedding cakes. You can have sounds of fountain, beach or other romantic music that you or your partner likes. So, you have your fountain cake ready. The decoration can further be enhanced by adding fresh flowers. The cake can be made healthier by adding fresh fruits dipped in the flowing liquid. This will not only add on the taste but also make it interesting to eat.

Creativity Can Come Cheap

Do not think that since you have an additional asset attached to your wedding cake, it will be heavy on your pocket. You have an option of renting the fountain of your choice. Also the sound arrangements that you want can be dirt cheap. So there will be no additional cost. It will be same as any other wedding cake idea may cost. There are a number of designs and ideas which you can look at with the baker of your choice or on the internet. Also a suitable flower arrangement can be chosen to complement the bride’s attire. Thus, the color theme will cost you nothing extra.

Conclusion

You want your wedding to be something which is exclusively yours. You must try and make it interesting so that your guests remember the day for a long time. Every part has to be planned keeping creativity in mind. Your wedding cake is going to be the star attraction for quite some time i.e. during the cake cutting ceremony. Thus, to have a wedding cake idea that sets the mood of the evening wonderfully is something that you would need. Fountain wedding cakes will surely take yours and your partner’s mood beyond any horizon.

If your finances are limiting your plans to have a big show on your cake cutting ceremony, you can give fountain wedding cakes a try. They can cover a wide range of your objectives such as color, theme etc. Besides being satisfying in terms of the presentation, they can be healthy and tasty too. To know more about wedding cake, you may logon to weddings-marriages.

With all the expenses related to getting married adding up, it can be easy to put the wedding rehearsal off to the side as an unnecessary expense. But that’s not always a wise decision. Too many things can go wrong and a simple rehearsal, even if it’s not at the wedding site, is an amazing insurance policy for the next day.

It’s a common thought that the smaller the wedding ceremony the less need there is for a rehearsal. Everyone likes to think that their friends and family can all handle the details about a small wedding in which they’ve all seen a dozen times.

But during the rush of the day, your bridesmaids might not know which music cue to listen for to walk down the aisle. A busy and nervous father may not know that the minister would like to say a few words before asking the family’s blessing. At one particular wedding I attended, a special singer was unaware that it was her time during the ceremony and it brought the whole thing to an awkward halt as she fumbled around trying to get ready. She nervously fingered through paper while everyone silently stared at her. I’m sure that was embarrassing to her. All that could have been prevented with a rehearsal with all the important parties.

A good minister will get everyone together and speak about what is going to happen and in what order. Then, everyone will walk through the ceremony and music cues twice. The first time will be when everyone learns what to do and when and the second time is a quick run through. This seems simple enough.

Starting with the seating of the parents, decide on music cues on when everyone should start their processional. Have a secondary plan if your wedding ceremony includes a flower girl/ring bearer that may not make it down the aisle or they may not want to stand for the whole ceremony.

Use this time to go over how any unity ceremonies, such as a unity candle or a sand ceremony, are going to take place.

Go over the order of special music or readings with the people doing them and where theyare during the ceremony.

Don’t neglect the processional either. Go over the music cue and the order in which you want everyone to walk back down the aisle and how the congregation will be “dismissed”.

This simple insurance policy will help ensure that your wedding day goes off without a hitch. Well, the only thing that should be getting hitched that day is you! All it takes is some simple planning to avoid an inevitable ceremony foible. So don’t neglect this important facet of your wedding preparations. It will pay off when everyone knows what to do and when, especially if you ceremony is being videotaped. You don’t want to watch it and have to relive the “oops”. Anyways, this is just one thing that can help relieve the stress of wedding planning at a time when the bride is overly stressed about the upcoming day!

When you think about the few days of your life that will be memorialized forever in photos and video, your wedding day is, of course, at the top of the list. So, naturally you want everything about your appearance to be perfect for that special day. This includes your dress, your makeup, your accessories, your jewelry, and - maybe most of all - your hair.

Months ahead of the big day, you might begin to be nervous about how your hair is going to look. But all that anxiety is totally and completely wasted! By keeping in mind a couple of simple guidelines, you can rest assured that your hair will be flawless and beautiful on your wedding day, and not have to give it a second thought.

First, remember that your hair doesn’t need to be a modern art sculpture just because it’s a special day. Simplicity has a definite beauty that can’t be overstated. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and gorgeous in the hairdo that you choose - not that people are impressed with the intricacy of the way your hair weaves together.

Secondly, make sure that you try out your hairdo a few times before the big event. Having a plan in your head does not necessarily translate to a beautiful ‘do ON your head. Sometimes it takes a couple of trial runs to get it right

Lastly, don’t stress over it. If you can’t seem to get a style you love happening on your own, ask one of your family members or girlfriends for help. Don’t be shy! This is what bridesmaids are for!

Sometimes in the midst of planning their wedding, impressionable couples can have a tough time sorting out the good ideas from the bad. Just because you have seen something done at another wedding does not necessarily mean that is is okay to include at your own. Ten tacky things to avoid are:

1. A dollar dance with the bride. I don’t care how many times you have seen this done, it is never acceptable. And no, you should not have a “money tree” either.

2. A cash bar. These people are your guests - you cannot expect them to pay for your reception. You didn’t call them up and ask them to pay for your wedding gown or bridal jewelry, did you? Graciously serve what you can afford. If that means beer and wine instead of French champagne, that is perfectly fine. Or create a signature drink; it is a very stylish way to avoid the expense of a full open bar.

3. Speaking of the wedding gown, be very wary of lace-up or corset backs. Unless they are done extremely well by an expert in corset construction, they just look trashy. Also beware the danger of back fat squishing through the laces - very unsightly, and it can happen to almost anyone, no matter how slim she may be.

4. While we are on the subject of the bridal ensemble, let’s talk about accessories. You will surely want to be fully bejeweled on your wedding day, from your hair on down to your feet. Remember, though, to keep it tasteful, and to balance your bridal jewelry with your other accents. For instance, if you are wearing a grand and opulent tiara, chose a delicate pendant instead of a three inch wide rhinestone choker to adorn your neck. You want your to wear your accessories, not to have them wear you!

5. For the gentlemen - don’t try to get too creative with your black tie. A vest or cummerbund in a color that ties in with the bridesmaids’ dresses is fine, but one covered with cartoon characters crosses the line. And need I even mention that a tuxedo print t-shirt is frightening, not clever?

6. This one is for the guests: the invitation is meant only for those to whom it was addressed. That means that you cannot bring your children or your cousin visiting for the weekend, unless they were specifically invited.

7. Bridesmaid abuse. Please remember that your bridesmaids are not indentured servants. Being close friends of the bride, they are likely to volunteer to help her go gown shopping, assemble favors, etc., but a bride should not demand that for the one year preceding her wedding these women dedicate every spare minute to preparing for her wedding. Nor can you make unreasonable demands regarding the appearance of your friends. If you liked your someone enough to ask her to be in your wedding in the first place, you should like her enough to let her be herself at the wedding.

8. Including registry information with the wedding invitation. Putting the details about a bridal registry on the invitation makes it look like the guest must bring a present in order to be admitted to the reception. While most guests will probably be happy to give the newlyweds a gift to help them start off their new life together, it is not mandatory.

9. And while we are on the subject of gifts, here is one of the tackiest things of all: neglecting to send thank you notes for each and every gift. Handwritten notes, not some generic pre-printed thing left on the tables at the reception, and for heaven’s sake, no e-mails! There is a common misconception that a couple has a year after the wedding to send out thank you notes. This is inaccurate - the year is the time span during which it would be considered proper for a guest to send out a wedding gift. The easiest way to handle thank you notes is to write them within a week of receiving the gift. That way, the excitement of opening the package is still fresh in your mind, and it is much easier to be sincere.

10. This last one is also for the guests: no snickering about whether the bride is “pure” enough to wear white!

A wedding trend in recent years is to serve cupcakes instead of a more traditional cake. Here are some reasons to embrace the sweet trend and serve individual cakes.

1. It is nontraditional. If you want ways to express your unique tastes and styles bucking the wedding cake tradition is an easy option. It certainly isn’t too risky to serve cupcakes, but it is also fun and an interesting alternative to cake.

2. It may be cheaper. This is not necessarily always the case, but as we all know, if the word wedding precedes something, the price goes up astronomically. If you order cupcakes from a bakery without mentioning that they are for your wedding, you could get a significantly better price that you would pay for a wedding cake.

3. Style. Cupcakes are infinitely more stylish these days. You can play around more with the decoration. Each one could be slightly different, or you can choose three or four different looks.

4. Differing tastes. You can choose several different cake flavors if you choose cupcakes. People can be quite particular about dessert. Some can’t eat chocolate and some will eat nothing but. With cupcakes, you can choose several differnt types to serve. Arrange them in separate areas with cute little signs to indicate flavor.

5. Germaphobes. I have a friend who chose cupcakes just for this reason. She could not bear the thought of servers putting their fingers all over the cake when they cut it. To her, the only sanitary option was to go with individually wrapped cupcakes.

Before you start the task, registering for gifts sounds like the best part of getting married. But, once you get going, especially if your groom is opinionated, you may find the job quite tedious. It also can be overwhelming and easy to forget some essentials. Here is a list of everyting a complete dining portion of a registry would contain. Certainly don’t feel like you have to register for all the items on the list, but it can help you decide what you really need.

Formal:

1. 8 to 12 fine china place settings and accents (soup bowls, desert plates)

2. 2 to 3 platters of various sizes

3. 2 serving bowls

4. 1 vegetable bowl

5. a gravy boat

6. creamer and sugar bowl

7. cake plate

8. soup tureen

It’s a common occurrence these days. People almost expect a perfectly nice young woman to become a monster when her wedding rolls around. There is even a tv show about bridezillas to give us all the guilty pleasure of watching a bride totally lose her cool. While it may be entertaining for others, who are distanced from the situation watch, for those involved and for the bride herself, this meltdown is no fun. How to avoid turning into bridezilla:

Let others do the work. Your family members and friends want to help you. Let them. There is no reason to do all the work yourself and this will only lead to terrible stress. Of course, if you have control issues, you will need to try number 2 first.

Lose control. By which, I mean, let others handle some decisions and tasks. For many type A personalities, who are the ones most likely to become bridezilla, losing control is tough. But, to maintain sanity, practice trusting others and letting them take the reins. At the very least, pick one person you absolutely trust, like your mother, and have all major decisions go through her.

Maintain perspective. Many brides really become absorbed in the idea of their special day being perfect. But, really, it is just one day. And it will be ok if one or two things go wrong. It’s everything after that day, the marriage itself, that really needs to go well.

Take time to relax. Treat yourself and your helpers to a day of relaxation. Whether this means going to the spa or the beach or taking a weekend to travel, just make sure you do something that will help you and those around you relax.

First of all, a limo isn’t really necessary. Consider renting a nice car, or borrowing your dad’s Lincoln. But, if you have your heart set on riding away in a stretch limousine, here are some money saving ideas.

1. Never utter the word wedding. Many services automatically increase their rates for weddings. When calling to hire the limo, simply call the wedding an event, or if they press, a party. It’s not a lie, your reception is certainly a party.

2. Try a funeral home. This may seem a bit morbid, but many funeral homes rent out their limousines to make a little extra cash. Or if you are morbid, ask for a hearse.

3. Always ask about the minimum time requirement. You may call a limo service and get a great hourly rate quote only to find out you have to hire it for at least four hours!

4. Look for a company that caters to corporate services. Limo companies that target weddings cost much more and corporate limos are generally not as busy on the weekends.

5. Don’t bother getting a limo to take you to the ceremony. No one will see you arrive at the church. They aren’t supposed to! Hire a limo just to take you from the church to the reception.

6. Don’t get married on Saturday. Everyone gets married on Saturday, so naturally, prices for everything go up. Have your wedding on Friday or Sunday and watch the rates drop.
