Your wedding day may very well be the greatest day of your life, but unfortunately it takes a lot of planning and many tough decisions in order to get to that point. Many couples do not have the budget that they need to make all of their dreams come true, and it is difficult to make things work, especially within an industry which is constantly urging you to spend and spend. Below we have some hints which are hopefully going to help you make your wedding day the best ever without having to break the bank in the process.

- Allow a friend or a family member to be your wedding coordinator. Having a wedding planner will no doubt make your wedding day run much more smoothly in the long run. Rather than spend a lot of money hiring a professional, ask someone that you trust so that they may help you by serving as your coordinator. All of your itineraries, checklists and contact numbers can be given to her, which will make things much simpler for you. After all, why should the bride have to do all of the planning?

- Look into dollar stores or other bargain shops in search of wedding decorations. You only have to use these items one time, so you do not necessarily have to look for items that will last for years. You can get great deals on candles, vases, silk flowers and many other possible wedding decoration ideas, saving yourself a great deal of money by avoiding the bridal shops.

- Choose artificial plants and flowers rather than working with live flowers. Fresh flowers tend to be extremely expensive, especially during certain seasons. You can borrow artificial plants instead, in order to add a fresh green and flowery look without breaking the bank.

- Rather than having a reception that includes a full meal, opt for a cocktail party reception instead. You can save quite a bit of money by focusing on cocktails and appetizers like finger foods instead of creating a complete meal for all of your guests. You may even consider utilizing the pre-made food trays that grocery stores typically offer, as they are usually very reasonably priced and offer a lot of food.

- If opting for live flowers over silk, choose the ones that are locally available and currently in season in order to save yourself some money. You may want to ask your florist for recommendations in order to find flowers that match your color scheme without necessarily breaking the bank.
